Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights

The University of Zaragoza reserves the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights that correspond to it either by being the exclusive holder or, where applicable, by having authorization for their use. These rights include all elements of the graphic design of its website, menus, codes, navigation controls and buttons, as well as all the information hosted on it, including texts, graphics, images, sound, and any other material.

Similarly, the University of Zaragoza is also the owner of the industrial property rights derived from the use of its trademark and any distinctive signs appearing on its website, as well as the domain unizar.es.

In general, the University of Zaragoza reserves the rights of reproduction, modification, adaptation, public communication, maintenance, error correction, transfer, sale, rental, loan, and/or any other intellectual or industrial property rights it may hold over the contents of its website. Any exercise of these rights, regardless of the mode or form in which they are exercised, will require prior written authorization from the University of Zaragoza.

The exclusive reservation of intellectual property rights will not apply to those contents where the University of Zaragoza explicitly changes the licensing conditions for some of these rights. Specifically, where coverage under Creative Commons licenses is specified, these will prevail over the general reservation of all rights mentioned above.

Links to Other Sites and Webpages

If the website offers links to other sites and webpages owned by third parties, while ensuring that these third parties meet adequate standards, the University of Zaragoza declines any responsibility regarding their contents or the services they provide and is not responsible for their integrity and accuracy.

Links from Other Sites and Webpages

To allow other pages or websites to link to it, the University of Zaragoza requires compliance with the following rules, upon prior request for linking authorization by these parties:

a) The link must include identification of the source.

b) The effect of clicking the “link button” must be to connect with the site or any of the University of Zaragoza’s webpages, not to incorporate its contents into the referring page.

c) The intellectual and industrial property rights of the University of Zaragoza must be respected, and no distinctive symbols, logos, search engines, etc., belonging to it may be incorporated into the referring page.

d) Conversely, the University of Zaragoza may establish links to the referring website from its own website if deemed appropriate.

For non-compliance with these conditions or other reasons as deemed appropriate, the University of Zaragoza may revoke authorization without entitlement to any indemnity or compensation.

Exemption of Responsibility

The University of Zaragoza will make every effort to avoid errors and, if any, correct or update them as soon as possible. However, it cannot guarantee their absence or that the information content is permanently up-to-date.

In no event will the University of Zaragoza be responsible for possible infringements of intellectual and industrial property rights committed by any user of the website. Similarly, given the nature of the medium and the potential risks of content alteration by third parties, the University of Zaragoza excludes any responsibility for the contents of its website.

The University of Zaragoza does not guarantee that the website and server are free of viruses, and thus it is not responsible for damages caused by access to the website or inability to access it. It is also not responsible for communication failures, interferences, or faults caused by technical or telecommunications services provided by third parties or from servers outside its control.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

Both the General Terms of Use and the Specific Terms and Privacy Policy followed by the University of Zaragoza are governed by Spanish law.

Any dispute related to the University of Zaragoza’s website will be resolved under Spanish jurisdiction, with the parties submitting to the Courts and Tribunals of Zaragoza, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction, should it differ from those mentioned above.
